Stanborough vs Trent Park vs Verularium -A dog’s view…..

DuckSketch_160126_0001.jpgMy owners are kind.

Because I am a dog who likes to run around and chase birds and trains and…..well; things  that need chasing, they take me for  daily walks

Often to Stanborough Lakes, Trent Park and Verulamium  (among other places)- all council run  open spaces with room  for a dog to move about a bit  and a café  near by.

I thought  that you might like to know how they compare:

Stanborough Lakes costs them £2.10 to park (£3.10 on a weekend) and only has a kiosk-like café open on a weekend at this time of the year (mind you, the staff seem very friendly to dogs – and  our owners).

Neither  Trent Park nor Verulamium cost anything to park for the time of a doggy walk  (All day free at Trent Park;  2 hours free at Verulamium).

Trent  Park  has a lovely big café with what seems to them to be an enticing menu at  reasonable cost…the place always seems to be very busy.

And another little café down the drive where I am welcomed with doggy treats (and my owners can buy things called “Wagon Wheels”)

Verulamium has The  Fighting Cocks Pub and the Waffle House (I am allowed in both!), and tea room cafes up near the Cathedral…not to mention many restaurants up in town (but I am not allowed into most of them- so I have no idea what they are  like)

Stanborough Lakes  have only the aforementioned kiosk that is open very rarely and which has quite a small menu –and the Italian Pasta place next door (where I am not allowed, anyway – so I have no idea …..).

Stanborough Lakes does have two enormous car parks that are never more than about 5% full.  The other two places have car parks that seem to be pretty full most of the time.

Wonder who runs all these Councils?

Finally, I am no good with heights.  So the closed High Ropes thingy at Stanborough is not a problem to me. It does seem to have been a bit of a waste of space and money though.

And; although I do like to get my paws wet, swimming is a bit unappetizing. So the closed swimming pool is not much of a problem either…. The grandkids seem to moan about it though.

Sad to have a Council that is so less capable than others isn’t it?  - and with so little vision.

Can you do something about it on May 5 (Borough Council Elections).

It would probably make my tail wag a bit……
