Labour run Hatfield Town Council is working hard to make this coming Christmas memorable for young and old alike.

Hatfield Town Council is responsible for making sure that Father Christmas doesn’t forget Hatfield when doing his rounds, and residents can expect to hear sleighbells throughout the coming December as he gets to see as many children as he can including for the first time, at weekends.

Hatfield Town Council Leader Lenny Brandon said, “I remember before I was elected how important things like this were to local people even though they were fairly small in the grand scheme. I’m really happy to say I’ve had a word and Santa will be going all out to see the residents of Hatfield this year.”

Cllr Lenny Brandon is also helping to organise the ‘Hatfield community Christmas party’ which will provide a traditional Christmas meal for the homeless and less fortunate on Christmas day.

Cllr Brandon said, “We are still looking for help with this in lots of different ways. Volunteers to help in any way they can, this does not need to be on the day itself. Donations are welcome, food and presents being top of the list. Most importantly, if anyone knows someone who could make use of what we have on offer, places can be booked via Jane Anderson at Hatfield Town Council (01707 262023).

“Christmas is also about helping those in need. In Hatfield we have such a great community spirit that organizing this isn’t difficult at all, local people, local businesses alike – they’ve all come together to make this happen and I’m sure it’s going to be a memorable day for all involved.

“I can’t stress highly enough how this isn’t about politics, this is the people of Hatfield showing once again that this is a lovely town full of people who care”
