These elections aren’t about sending a message to politicians in Westminster, they are a chance for you to vote for real change that you can see in the communities in which you live.

Under the Tories we are all paying more in tax and fees, but getting a whole lot less – but it doesn’t have to be this way. Whether it’s community safety, protecting space for local businesses,  reversing the decline of the local environment – Labour has a plan to improve Welwyn Hatfield.

We won’t accept areas of our borough where residents and businesses are affected by anti social behaviour. We won’t provide support to a government that has cut our police service to the point where they can’t deal with rising violent crime. A Labour Council will work with the Police to get a grip on anti social behaviour and work harder to direct those involved onto a better path.

Welwyn Hatfield is home to a number of large businesses and we will work hard to make sure this Council does more to support small to medium enterprises too.

Under the Conservatives, litter is out of control and more time is spent hacking down trees than planting them. Labour will introduce higher recycling targets, commit to a considerable planting schedule and tackle the scourge of litter in ALL areas of Welwyn Hatfield.

“Under the Tories we are all paying more in tax and fees, but getting a whole lot less – but it doesn’t have to be this way.”

-Kieran Thorpe, Leader of Welwyn Hatfield Council.

Under Labour, Hatfield Town Council has a proud record of delivering for residents – freezing Council Tax, while upgrading local community facilities and focusing on our community with the Hatfield Firework display and free Hatfield Music Festival. Better value, better services, a better run Labour Council.

During these elections, residents will no doubt be presented with lots of fearmongering nonsense again from this Conservative administration who’s 17 years in power have let Welwyn Hatfield down.

Rather than slashing services, closing facilities and putting up your taxes like the Conservatives – Labour will operate a policy of financial prudence, while making sure services improve and residents get value for money.

On May 2nd, Vote Labour – and give Welwyn Hatfield the long overdue change it needs.
