PETITION: No to Holiday Hunger in Herts
PETITION: No to Holiday Hunger in Herts

Following the appalling vote in parliament where MPs voted against extending free school meals into the half-term and Christmas holiday, we’re joining Marcus Rashford and calling on Herts County Council and Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council to make sure there is provision for all of the approximately 20,000 children across Hertfordshire (2,133 in Welwyn Hatfield) who receive free school meals.

It’s shameful that neither council put in place measures to support vulnerable families over the October half-term – this cannot happen over Christmas.

Add your name to the petition calling on Owen Mapley (Chief Executive of Hertfordshire County Council) and Ka Ng (Chief Executive of Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council) and their respective Conservative Council Leaders, David Williams, Leader of Hertfordshire County Council), and Tony Kingsbury (Leader of Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council) to make sure no child is left to go hungry this Christmas.
